Various Slovene artists have been residing in the Slovene Arts & Culture Residency on Kastanienallee (Prenzlauer Berg) in Berlin since 2004. It is part of a Slovene Arts & Culture Residencies Programme that offers one-month creative stay in New York, London, Berlin or Vienna. The programme of the the Berlin residency has been co-managed by the SKICA Berlin, Slovenian Cultural Centre, which was set up at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia Berlin in November 2016.

Eligibility

The residencies host Slovene artists, writers, translators, curators, critics, producers, etc., regardless of discipline. Following the open call, the residents are selected by the ministry's expert committee for the following year, considering the submitted proposals that should outline an art project developed in partnerships with local organisations, and international artists and experts.

The Ministry of Culture covers the rental, maintenance and travel costs.
