The International Cooperation and EU Office of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport works on bilateral cooperation and multilateral cooperation in educational and scientific fields, and international cooperation in all spheres of education.

In addition to its general education programmes, the Pre-School Education and Grammar School, Ljubljana introduced in 1999 a four-year programme in contemporary dance (module B) as its Art Grammar School programme.

The Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth is responsible for: planning, organisation and implementation of measures in the area of the youth policy; activities in the area of social policy for children and young people, education and informal education, leisure activities, culture, public information and international co-operation; the monitoring of the implementation of the regulations and other acts relating to young people, warning of non-effective realisation of regulations and proposing measures for more effective realisation; the formulation and supervision of the implementation of the priority youth programmes; the monitoring of the role and position of young people in society; improving the conditions for organised youth activities and youth organisations; stimulating the mobility of young people; finding better ways of supplying young people with information and advice; support for international exchanges and the subsidising of trips for children and young people; encouraging various interest activities of young people; and the creation of conditions for the inclusion of young people in social processes.

The National Commission for Music Education is a part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

The IMPRO Association for Culture and Education aims to develop the tradition of improvisation theatre.

The Faculty of Education Library was established in 1947 within the former College of Education.

The Faculty of Education in the University of Ljubljana has its own gallery space (182m²) for presentations of the works created by students of various art departments.

In September 2006 the former Academy of Education (Pedagoška akademija) of the University of Maribor was transformed into three faculties: the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Faculty of Education.

The Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana was established in 1964 on the foundations laid by the former College of Education in 1947.

Established in 1965 by the Government of the Federative Republic of Slovenia, the Educational Research Institute (ERI) is the central research institution in Slovenia for research in education, undertaking basic, research, development and applied projects on issues of current interest in all sectors of education and related areas.

Directorate for the Information Society at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport is responsible for accelerated, harmonised and efficient development of the information society based on knowledge and life-long learning.

The Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) was established in October 2003 and continues the work of the previous EU Programmes Agency.
