The journal Dve domovini/Two Homelands is a multidisciplinary and bilingual journal devoted to international migration studies. It has been published since 1990 by the Slovenian Migration Institute and is the main scholarly journal dealing with Slovene emigration as well as with theoretical or methodological problems of interdisciplinary and comparative migration studies.


Dve domovini/Two Homelands is a journal devoted to the publication of scientific and professional articles, reports, reflections and book reviews from the field of international migration, viewed from different angles of social sciences and humanities.

Articles are published in Slovenian and English. The editorial board may also decide to publish articles in other languages. Articles undergo a peer-review procedure and their summaries are available online.

The contents of the journal can be found through the following abstracting and indexing services: FRANCIS (Sociology/Ethnology/Linguistics of Francis); IBZ – International Bibliography of Periodical Literature; IBR – International Bibliography of Book Reviews; Social Abstracts IBSS (International Bibliography of the Social Sciences) and MSH.
