Rock Batuje, which takes place in the tiny village of Batuje in the Vipava Valley, was organised for the first time in 2003, primarily with the aim of showcasing young rock groups from the region. Over time the festival grew and started to feature foreign, mostly cover/tribute bands. In 2014, Rock Batuje hosted the legendary rock band Uriah Heep.

Among the bands who have played at the festival, one can also mention Siddharta, Iron Median, Zablujena Generacija, Zmelkoow, Pelhan, Bohem, Pero Lovšin, Madbringer, Guns 2 Roses, Bullet, Forever Deep and Heavenix.
