European Triennial of Small Sculpture

From Culture.si

==for Jana, the text is condensed== Dear Jana, thx for all your answers and advises for the article of triennial in murska sobota. I just shortend the text, which was written as one of the first articles of mine, when I thougt the aim of culture.si would be to be as exhaustive and systematical as possible. I guess now the text might be ok: condensed and straight. In this first phase I will not change it anymore, but soon should come info about this year edition. My best, maja Maja Škerbot

v poimenovanju dogodka se mora nujno odstraniti Slovene, ker ni slovenski, pač pa mednarodni. kako se je razvijal iz jugoslavanskega v mednarodnega, in primerjava z feldbachom bo brati v članku.

Comments from Language Editor

  • Hi Maja -- I'm just writing my first impressions -- when I first opened this text, I got a bit overwhelmed. Good to keep in mind the visual layout (amount of white space, structure) in the articles, especially when they are long. of course this will change when we get photos and final design but having a lot of big text blocks can be daunting.
  • Bohemia a country? Maybe the Czech Republic instead?
  • perhaps helpful to put long lists of countries in alpha-order?
  • since you have the link to the catalogue in external links, i see no reason to quote so much of the curator's comments. starts to be a treatise on satire.
  • I think that a nice selection of 3 or 4 works from the last triennial will make the theme and the quality of the works very obvious. Glancing through the catalogue, many of them communicate immediately, and do indeed provoke a chuckle.
  • Catalogue says Gallery of Murska Sobota ... do we change?
  • hm, I'm not entirely satisfied with my editing. I think it is going in the right direction. OK as it is, could be better with tightening up of the highlights. Name all artists? Describe just a handful (to show the diversity) or the most promising/known/prominent ones? Again, lists of names are not interesting to read. Maybe shorten this curator quote a little more? I know I said to make more white space, and I've done the opposite by eliminating the sub-section headings.
  • About bolding names. I agree that it is helpful, but not really the style that we have adopted. Do we rethink the bolding rules?
  • Input from editors very welcome!
