Here is but a limited overview of the Slovene folk pop music scene, featuring its most important and/or long-lived festivals (of them, one is held in Italy). You can also check an outline of the pioneering Avsenik Ensemble (active between 1953 and 1989) and a brief assessment of its cultural impact. Since 2017 this genre of music has been included in the register of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.
