The [[Ciril Kosmač Homestead|homestead of Ciril Kosmač]], a famous Slovene novelist, dramatist, translator, screenwriter, and the author of the popular novels ''Tantadruj'' and ''The Ballad on Trumpet and A Cloud'', was transformed into a museum complex in [[Established::2003]]. The homestead, located in the idyllic village Slap ob Idrijci, is run by the [[Tolmin Museum]] and is available to visit by advance appointment. Each Sunday there is a guided tour of the memorial museum and its collections on the writer most known for his social realism and folk themes. The year 2010 has been devoted to [[Ciril Kosmač]], several theatre and literature events are taking place throughout the year. 

The homestead is one of the stops on the Kosmač School Trail aimed for school children and developed as a sightseeing tour at the Dušan Munih Primary School in Most na Soči.  The learning path and the homestead were included in the international project "Genius Loci Network" (1999&ndash;2002), in which the [[Municipality of Tolmin]] participated as one of 5 partners in a cultural heritage economic development project in the regions of Zaragoza and Granada (ES); Florence (IT); Wiederstedt (DE); and Tolmin (SI) in order to maintain or create permanent jobs.
