The Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design offers undergraduate, taught postgraduate and guided research programmes in the field of textiles, graphic arts and design.
The basic objective of the Bachelor of Arts programme is to prepare qualified graduates for independent and unique industrial design work, as well as to ensure adequate fundamentals for postgraduate education in textile and clothing design. The study programme combines both textile technological and design skills, hence it draws on both basic natural sciences and artistic knowledge. Both the design of textiles and the design of clothing are studied. In postgraduate studies graduates gain the necessary expertise in a more narrow design field, leading to a Master of Arts degree in Design of Textiles and Clothing. MA and PhD programmes in Textile Technology and Graphic Technology are also offered. The Department has its own library.
