Organised by the Art Centre - Institute of Youth Culture, Kranj since 2003, the Carniola Festival, Summer in Kranj is an international summer festival of music, theatre and dance, usually taking place in June. As part of the wider Carniola Festival, the Kiselfest Festival offers a music and puppetry programme for children end of June.

Programme

Carniola Festival presents Slovene and international performers of jazz, classical music, opera, street theatre, classical theatre, contemporary dance, and folk dance.

Past performances include Laibach (Slovenia), Terrafolk (Slovenia), The Platters (USA), Huerque Mapu (Argentina), Afrikali (Tanzania), Mariachi & Ballet Folclorico Policromia Mexicana (Mexico), Conjunto Artistico Maraguan (Cuba), Vermicelli Orchestra (Russia), Rimpparemmi (Finland), Picikato Brass Band (Macedonia), Etno Histria (Croatia).

Later on in summer the music festivals programme in Kranj is expanded by Jazz Kamp Kranj taking place in August.
