Established in 1997, the Slovene Chamber of Engineers is the national association of engineers working in the fields of machinery, technology, mining and geodesy. Its former section of architects, urban planners and landscape architects became the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS). The chamber protects and represents the professional and social interests of its members, primarily in legal matters. It monitors professional standards, acts a link between its members and relevant ministries, prepares documents and offers information. The Slovene Chamber of Engineers was a founding member of European Council of Engineers Chambers, established in Vienna in September 2003.
