==Cultural cooperation==

The legal basis for cooperation in culture, education, and science between Slovenia and the Netherlands was adopted in 1992 as a part of the succession of the former republic of Yugoslavia.

The embassy itself has limited funds to support activities in the field of culture, however, it has supported some events in the past. Such funds are usually available through public tenders by the [[Ministry of Culture]] or tenders by the [[Ministry of Foreign Affairs]]. For engaging with international art projects, residencies, and heritage from the Netherlands, the advice agency DutchCulture (former SICA) represents the countries' main centre for international cooperation.

===Slovenian heritage and community===
In 2009 Milena Mulders, researcher of Slovenian heritage in the Netherlands, published an impressive research entitled ''Met de buik het brood achterna. Mijn Sloveense geschidenis'' (Amsterdam University Press, 2009). The book reveals the lives of many immigrant workers from Slovenia in the beginning of the 20th century, mostly who worked in mines in Limburg, the southern province of the Netherlands. On this occasion, the embassy supported the Slovenian translation of the accompanying exhibition.

There are more than 1,000 Slovenians living in the Netherlands, in recent years the number of Slovenian-born immigrants increased in the Randstad area (Amsterdam, Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht), most of whom moved there for study or for work. Along with smaller cultural associations (the choir ''Zvon'' in Limburg) there are two active associations in the community: Friends of Slovenia and Folk Dance Group Nizozemska.

===Slovenian language courses===

Since 2011 the embassy helps to coordinate Slovenian language courses in The Hague. Private lessons for Slovenian language are also available through other informal ways, especially in the university cities (student language exchange, etc.).
