Subtitled "a magazine for new dimensions of living", [[Hiše Magazine|''Hiše'']] ("Houses") magazine is a research and educational bi-monthly publication co-funded by 28 companies engaged in the housing construction and furnishing industries. It has been published by [[Zavod Big|Zavod Big &ndash; Center for creative economy of Southeast Europe]] since [[Established::1999]] in Slovenian language. The magazine explores the most influential architectural trends, discovers breathtaking architectural projects, and presents good architectural practices from the local region and beyond, with a particular focus on individual housing and interior design. It features interviews and reviews of books on architecture. Special issues are dedicated to creating a better living environment, sustainable development, and the greater use of renewable and environment-friendly materials.

==Awards==
From 2009 to 2017 the [[Hiše Awards]] were awarded for the best individual housing project at the [[Big Architecture Festival]], organised by Zavod Big together with ''Hiše'' Magazine. 

Every October, Zavod Big organises the [[Month of Design]] in Ljubljana with a number of events happening throughout the city, among them, the [[Big Architecture Festival]]. 

Since 2018, the [[BigSEE Awards]] are now bestowed during the Month of Design to the best designers and architects from the 19-country SEE region in the following categories: Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, Tourism Design and Wood Design. In addition, the [[National Design Awards]] are granted to the best designers in Slovenia.
