Established in [[established::1987]] and managed by the [[Insula-Obala Fine Artists Society]], [[Insula Gallery]] features the work of member artists from the Littoral region of Slovenia.  Beside the programme of mainly solo exhibitions of local artists such as [[Janez Matelič]] or [[Peter Abram]], the gallery also features works of international artists such as the poetic Spanish graphic artist Ines Gonzalez or painter Raffaela Bartoli.

The Insula Gallery regularly features exhibitions in the [[Praetorian Palace]] in Koper, where it offers approximately 10 exhibitions annually. Through various exchanges, the gallery also cooperates with other national and international galleries and art spaces. Occasionally, the gallery also prepares exhibitions in other galleries or non-official gallery spaces along the Slovenian coast such as the Manzioli Palace or Gravisi Butorai Palace (both in Izola).
