International Center for Puppetry Arts Koper (called also MCLU, i.e. Mednarodni center lutkovne umetnosti Koper) was established in 2005 when the activities of the Lutkarnica Puppetry Studio at the Mladinska 6 in Koper-Capodistria have been expanded. The founder was Maja Bavdaž Gross who has been active in puppetry for more than three decades (also the co-founder of Papilu Puppet Theatre).

The center produces performances by Nika Solce and the puppet theatre Teatro matita and co-organises the PUF Festival and Floating Castle Festival.

At the Lutkarnica Studio the MCLU produces various performances, organises workshops for small and school-aged children, and holds seminars for teachers.
