Launched in [[established::1964]] and held in the town [[Črnomelj]] in the southern region of Slovenia, the [[Jurjevanje in Bela krajina]] is the oldest folklore festival in Slovenia. It features folklore groups from Bela krajina and other regions of Slovenia, individual folk musicians and also international groups. 

Jurjevanje is a member of [[International Council for Organisations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (CIOFF), Slovenia]].

== Programme ==

Jurjevanje is a dance, music and song festival, featuring traditional Bela Krajina "tamburica" instruments, "brač", "berda", "bisernica", "bugarija", "gudalo", "white birch leaf", "rug" and some other traditional instruments. The dances, songs and music performed by local folklore groups date between the end of 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

The festival programme includes also exhibitions, book presentations, folk music concerts and culinary events.
