The Non Profit Activities Department is responsible for social and health care, education and sports, as well as for cultural activities. Each year it offers financial co-funding for cultural programmes and projects, which is available on a competitive basis. The Žalec Union of Cultural Societies and the local branch of the Public Fund for Cultural Activities facilitate the activities of numerous cultural associations.
