The [[Research and Documentation Center JAS]] was established in [[established::2010]] as a continuation of the ongoing projects basically aimed at creating an electronic database of ''Jewish Archive of Slovenia''. The database enables further research of the Jewish heritage related topics. The center mainly focuses on research and documentation in the field of humanities and sociology. Special part of the activity presents research of cultural heritage and preparation of the conservation plans for renovation and restoration of the important historic architectural sites.

==Collections==
One of the priorities of the Center JAS was founding of the Jewish Archives of Slovenia in association with the Jewish Community of Slovenia and maintaining of a database. Through the years of research work members keep collecting archival items on Jewish topics, belonging mainly to the intangible and tangible heritage related to the Slovenian lands and wider. The electronic database now contains more than 1500 units and provides resources for further research of the Jewish heritage related topics. 

==Publications==
Besides publication of the scientific research articles, the center recently published  ''Tracing Jewish Heritage: A Guidebook to Slovenia'', the first cultural guide of Jewish history, culture, economic growth, and the development of the Jewish civilization in Slovenia.

Another publication is a picture book of Slovene fairytales in English entitled ''A Taste of Slovenian Tales''. The book presents Slovene intangible heritage to the non-Slovene visitors and readers. The book contains three folktales illustrated by Mojca Fo.

==Exhibitions==
In 2009 the center authored an exhibition ''Tracing Jewish Heritage in Slovenia'', which was since shown at many venues, i.e. [[Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor|Maribor Synagogue]], [[Regional Archives Koper|Koper Archives]]. It offers for the first time the overview of the remaining sites of the tangible Jewish heritage in Slovenia.
