Opened in [[established::1984]], the [[Vaneča Memorial Room – District Committee of the Association of National Liberation War Veterans Murska Sobota]] is housed in a unique building of contemporary design which summarises the essential features of the basic type of U-shaped peasant house in Prekmurje, complemented by a memorial in the form of a maize loft (designed by [[Vlado Sagadin]]). The Memorial Room exhibition was set up by the [[Murska Sobota Regional Museum]] and comprises an exhibition (photographs and documents) presenting a survey of the National Liberation Movement in Prekmurje during the Second World War. The building stands close to the site of the Battle of Vaneča of 20 October 1944. The building is being converted into a touristic facility that will preserve its memorial mission.
