Established as a separate section within the Ministry of Culture in 2003, the Section for Intermedia Arts is today a part of the ministry's Creativity Directorate.

The Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth is responsible for: planning, organisation and implementation of measures in the area of the youth policy; activities in the area of social policy for children and young people, education and informal education, leisure activities, culture, public information and international co-operation; the monitoring of the implementation of the regulations and other acts relating to young people, warning of non-effective realisation of regulations and proposing measures for more effective realisation; the formulation and supervision of the implementation of the priority youth programmes; the monitoring of the role and position of young people in society; improving the conditions for organised youth activities and youth organisations; stimulating the mobility of young people; finding better ways of supplying young people with information and advice; support for international exchanges and the subsidising of trips for children and young people; encouraging various interest activities of young people; and the creation of conditions for the inclusion of young people in social processes.

The National Commission for Music Education is a part of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

The responsibilities and activities of the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning relate to the protection of the environment and nature and spatial planning, and ensuring that various acts passed by local communities are in line with national legislation, water and water management; acquiring energy resources and the rational management of these resources; geological, seismological, meteorological and other geophysical and natural phenomena; nuclear safety; housing affairs; a development strategy in the setting up and linking of spatial information systems at national and local level; geodesy; and the control by inspectors of activities in all of these areas.

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MFA) implements foreign policy and carries out duties determined by the Foreign Affairs Act and other regulations.

The Heritage Information and Documentation Centre (InDoc Centre) is the central point for the Cultural Heritage Directorate, Ministry of Culture and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.

In cooperation with other ministries, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is also the centre of activity concerned with drafting and concluding international umbrella agreements in the fields of culture, education, and science and the related inter-governmental protocols, as well as implementing programmes.

The Media Directorate evaluates the situation and proposes measures for developing media pluralism.

Directorate for the Information Society at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport is responsible for accelerated, harmonised and efficient development of the information society based on knowledge and life-long learning.

The Cultural Heritage Directorate is responsible for governance tasks in the field of cultural heritage and monitors the development of the complex system of the protection of cultural heritage.

The Sector for Arts within the Creativity Directorate, Ministry of Culture covers performing arts, music arts, dance, visual arts, architecture and design, and intermedia arts (new media).

The Ministry of Culture is responsible for regulating those matters in the sphere of culture which are in the public interest.
