The art colony dedicated to Ive Šubic has been organised in Škofja Loka since 1997. The Škofja Loka Artists Association's members, who organise the colony, select a painting by one of the Šubic painters - Janez, Jurij or Ive Šubic - and invite artists to participate. The colony's focus in 2007 was the Dead Bird oil painting. Participating artists covered all media: painting, sculpture, photography, design, comics and writing. The works were subsequently exhibited at the Ivan Grohar Gallery, Škofja Loka. In 2007 the Grohar Stipend was bestowed on the Slovene comic author Iztok Sitar.
