In 2015, the Slovene Association of Cinematographers introduced an award for the best achievements in the art and science of film photography, the Iris Award. Directors of photography compete on an annual basis and in several categories: Long-feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, Student Film, Animation, and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
