Europa Cantat, the European Forum of Youth Choirs, brings together young European singers. It is supported by the General Budget of the European Communities through budget line A-3042, supporting organisations working for European Culture and sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth, Germany. It is a member of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) and the European Music Council (EMC). Since 1960 the activities of Europa Cantat have contributed to the mutual understanding of European nations, and of their music, language and cultures. Europa Cantat runs Europe’s biggest choir festival, International Singing Weeks, the European Youth Choir and the European Academy for Young Choral Conductors, as well as organising study tours for choral conductors in partner countries. It also publishes its own magazine. The Slovene Choral Society is a member of Europa Cantat.
