Opened in 2000 in an underground bunker in the Municipality of Sežana, MC Podlaga (Podlaga Youth Centre) organises cultural programmes, offers consultation services and disseminates youth related information. It also provides rehearsal and performance facilities for local music groups and has a Cyber Room with four computers for public Internet access and two computers for working. It collaborates with the Kosovel Culture House Sežana for movie screenings and helps in producing the annual local festival Mladifest.

In recent years, the venue has organised a number of concerts (though usually of Slovene musicians and groups, they have also hosted bands such as the UK Subs), performances, lectures, creative workshops, film evenings, presentations by local artists, and exhibitions of comics and photography.
