The Maruša Krese Award (formerly the Novo mesto award) was established in 2017 by Goga Publishing House and is awarded annually for the best Slovenian short story collection. Each year, a jury of literary professionals selects four nominated works. The winner is traditionally announced at an award ceremony, which includes a discussion with all nominees exploring the central themes of their collections. Past recipients include renowned Slovenian authors such as Ana Svetel, Suzana Tratnik, Ajda Bračič, and Vesna Lemaić.
