Nindri Indri was originally launched in 2021 as a concert series but after some years evolved into a two-day festival. It is held annually at the MIKK club in Murska Sobota. The festival features bands from a wide range of alternative music genres, such as rock, electronic, and folk. While most of the bands come from Slovenia, international artists from Serbia, Croatia, Czech republic, United Kingdom and other countries have also played on the Nindri Indri stage. Being located in the Prekmurje region is an important aspect of its identity, manifesting itself in the regional cuisine available at the concert venue and in the use of the Prekmurje dialect throughout festival communications. The festival’s name, Nindri Indri, is a phrase from the Prekmurje dialect as well, meaning “nowhere else”.
