Bažato Gallery was founded in 2021 by Matjaž Bažato. Its mission is to exhibit and promote artworks by contemporary Slovenian artists, particularly from the fields of painting, sculpture and photography. Artists who have exhibited their works in the Bažato Gallery include Marko Šajn, Mirko Bratuša, Jelka Flis, Herman Gvardjančič, Ivo Prančič, Ana Sluga and Jane Štravs. Exhibitions are complemented by occasional discussions with the artists, while the gallery’s website also offers a wide range of virtual exhibition experiences and an online gallery shop. The gallery is located in the Astra building, itself an important work by an acclaimed Slovenian architect Savin Sever.
