Photographic works nowadays can be found as retrospectives of influential authors or as individual works in permanent collections in important national institutions such as Moderna Galerija (MG) and the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova or in regional influential venues such as the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC) in Ljubljana or Maribor Art Gallery (UGM). MG has also managed a Photo Archive since its very beginning in 1948. Rather than in photoclubs, the younger generation gathers at festivals such as the renewed Fotopub Festival based in Novo mesto that supports contemporary experimental artworks which approach or question photographic medium, be it in forms of installations, videos, graphic works or high-tech practices, exhibiting them through-out the year in Ljubljana venue at the abandoned petrol station at Tivolska ulica.
