Cultural cooperation
The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on Cooperation in Culture was signed in 1994.
In 2004 the apartment in Berlin was set up as a part of Arts & Culture Residencies Programme for Slovene artists, writers, translators, curators, critics or producers who are selected via an annual open call of the Ministry of Culture. The Slovene Arts & Culture Residency, Berlin is managed by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia Berlin.
In 2009 the Scientific Center for Eastern and Southeastern Europe Regensburg opened a Slovenian reading room, Slowenischer Lesesaal, Regensburg, a valuable resource for the Slovenian diaspora and for people interested in Slovenian culture and language. It was established by the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia, represented by the National and University Library in Ljubljana, University Library Regensburg and the Institute for Southeastern Europe. The library ceased its activities in 2014.
The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Berlin and the consulates in Germany participate in organisation of a range of cultural events.
