The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Addis Ababa was established in 2023 as an official representative body of the Slovene Government in Ethiopia. The first resident Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Ethiopia was appointed in 2024. The embassy provides consular assistance and promotes bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations.

The first Slovenian embassy in sub-Saharan Africa extends Slovenia’s diplomatic network to a city that, as the seat of the African Union, has a vibrant diplomatic community.
