Cultural cooperation
Slovenian cultural presence in Algiers has been notable since the Embassy was founded. Its variety across distinct disciplines reaches is notable, and the strategy targets reaching different audiences. Consult the Events worldwide for the detailed information.
Slovenian artists participated in Algeria's European Music Festival for the first time. The performance titled La Place – Marketplace was a contemporary dance and music piece conceived by the Diaspora Collective and Harmelogic, featuring six Slovenian artists, among them Maša Kagao Knez and Miha Furlan. It was staged at the prestigious Théâtre National Algérien Mahieddine Bachtarzi and supported jointly by the Slovenian Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture as well as the EU delegation.
FIBDA Algiers International Comic Strip Festival featured in 2025 the Slovenian heavy metal band Hellcats presenting heavy metal's strong visual and comics-adjacent aesthetic culture.
An educational and participatory project was organised in 2025 in the framework of the International Book Fair (SILA), one of the largest book fairs in the Arab world. A language workshop for children introduced the Slovenian language and was followed by a craft workshop.
