Illegal Kru

In 1998 DJ Markoman started the drum and bass scene in his hometown Maribor, by organising events called Illegal Life at Pekarna Cultural Centre. Others slowly joined him, forming a group of DJs, MCs and producers of drum and bass music, especially jungle and hardstep dnb. Today IllegalKru consists of several jungle drum and bass DJs and producers Markoman, Smooth, Tsunami, Hose, Hedon, Spade and Telekinesis, which is a collaboration between Markoman and Smooth.

IllegalKru organises regular drum and bass events, such as Digital Dungeon in Klub K4 and an annual open-air event in the summer at Ročinj, called Brejkpiknik. It has brought a number of big-name DJs to Slovenia to play alongside the Kru's own skilled DJs and MCs. They also perform abroad.
