Krimifest, founded in 2025, is the festival of crime fiction. Its mission is to showcase the quality of Slovenian and international crime fiction and to stimulate the debate about the literary genre. To achieve this goal, Krimifest features discussions, book presentations, film screenings, quizzes and other events, bringing together readers, writers, literary experts, and even professionals from the field of criminal investigation. To highlight the best crime fiction writing, the festival also bestows two awards: the Pila Award for the best Slovenian crime novel of the last two years and the award for the best Slovenian crime short story.
