Mladinska knjiga Group owns the largest publishing house in Slovenia – Mladinska knjiga Publishing House as well as the network of over 50 Mladinska knjiga Bookshops round Slovenia. Some of them are also important venues for readings and book presentation events: in Ljubljana the most important bookshops in the city centre are the Konzorcij bookstore, the Trubar's Antiquariat and the Oxford Centre Bookshop. Literature promoting Mladinska knjiga bookshops are located also in the city centres of Maribor, Dom knjige ("Book Home") in Koper-Capodistria, in Celje, Novo mesto, and Slovenj Gradec. Mladinska knjiga also has bookshoops in Serbia and Croatia.

Konzorcij Bookstore

Konzorcij is Ljubljana's largest bookstore with over 100,000 titles. Located in the centre of the town, it incorporates various departments: children's books, reference books, humanities, social and natural sciences, languages and literature, and different kind of manuals from turistic guides, hobby books to personal growth books. An extensive selection of literature and reference books are available here in English, german, Croatian and other languages, and books by Slovene authors in foreign languages can also be purchased. It is also possible to order books or periodicals from abroad. One part of the bookstore is dedicated to selling magazines, school books, gifts and diverse range of office material.


Konzorcij organises various book presentations featuring guest authors and its large department for arts and culture has organised many international events. Together with other cultural institutions, it organises the annual book fair Frankfurt after Frankfurt. This selling exhibition plays an important role in slovenian book market.. Booksellers, through their professional approach, knowledge of foreign book production and taking into account the interests of their customers, make selection in a wide range of foreign book offering. Goal of the exhibition is to offer readers and customers highest quality selection of foreign books each year.

Bologna after Bologna children's Book Exhibition is an overview of the most up-to-date, quality and award-winning children's literature presented at the recent Bologna Book Fair.
