The Ljubljana-based group Rotor was formed in 1998 and a is a vibrant part of the Slovene dance and house scene. The driving force of Rotor is Iztok Turk, the originator and key composer of Slovene techno music, also known for being the leading member of legendary 1980s groups like Videosex, Otroci socializma, and many others. Other members include the DJs from the Temponauta team.

In 2000 the group released the album Rotosphere, which was released for the label EFA and is a result of collaboration with top-notch Slovene studio musicians and DJs. In 2010 the group played together with the indie pop attraction MGMT in Maribor.
