The first award was bestowed to Nace Šumi, representative of the second generation of Slovene art historians. The only group consisting of Stane Peterlin and Ivan Stopar received award in 1992. Prizes went last years to Janez Mikuž (2010), Ana Sonja Hoyer (2009) and Peter Fister (2008).
