The Maribor Regional Office of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, founded in 1959, is responsible for cultural heritage in Maribor region, with cultural monuments of high importance declared by the state, among them the Dornava Mansion and several other mansions, Borl and Slovenska Bistrica Castles. The office has conservation and restoration workshop and branch in Ptuj.


Exhibitions

Some temporary exhibitions are organised; in 2009 there was an exhibition Zgodovinski parki in vrtovi ("Historic Parks and Gardens"), accompanied by a monography.

Awards

Employees of the of the office has won several Stele acknowledgements and Stele AwardsJanez Mikuž (2010), Viktor Gojkovič (2007), Mirko Šoštarič (1995), and Andreja Volavšek (1991). Stele recognition has won: Neva Sulič Urek (2008), Bine Kovačič (2007).
