AKSL Arhitekti was established in 2005 by Špela Leskovic and Aleš Košak, who have been working together as Team AKSL since 2000. The studio's work encompasses architecture, interior and stage design, and experimental work. Together with their co-workers they have produced over 50 projects, many of which have been shown at various exhibitions (Oris ideja in Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade, and Vienna in 2005; Arhitektura – Inventura in Ljubljana in 2005, 2006 and 2007).


Projects

The studio's major projects include the Mali hair stylist shop in Ljubljana (2001), Cubo Restaurant in Ljubljana (2003), the Sailing Point nautical shop in Portorož (2004), Rožmarin Restaurant, Wine Bar and Cafeteria in Maribor (2006), "Sončna hiša" Design Boutique Hotel in Banovci (2007), Valvas'or Restaurant in Ljubljana (2008), and the Modrijan Bookshop in Ljubljana (2009). The studio has also carried out a number of residential interior design projects, including renovations of single family houses, apartments, and lofts.

Awards

In 2010 AKSL Arhitekti studio was short-listed for the Contractworld Award for the Valvas'or Restaurant project. Their work on the Rožmarin Restaurant, Wine Bar and Cafeteria in Maribor was nominated for the Plečnik Medal 2008. Select restaurant interiors were nominated for the Interior of the year award at the Month of Design – Cubo in 2004, Rožmarin in 2007, and Valvas'or in 2008.
