International Big Architecture Festival presented by Zavod Big and Hiše Magazine is a one–day architectural conference taking place in Ljubljana annually since 2008. Invited architects address theme issues through presentations of their exceptional work, and through a dynamic dialogue.

In 2008 conference under the title Selling Architecture that Sells introduced Nordic perspective on quality commercial design, with internationally renowned architects holding lectures, naming only Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter (Denmark). The 2009 event entitled Sustainable Excellence explored a relationship between quality design, innovation, sustainability, creativity, and responsibility. The 2010 festival on subject–theme Transformation hosts architects ARX Portugal Arquitectos (Portugal), and NL Architects (The Netherlands), among others.

Since 2009 the exhibition of world's best residential buildings forms a part of the Big Architecture Festival; in 2010 the exhibition is showcased outside, in the old city centre near the river Ljubljanica. Hiše Awards for Innovative Excellence in Private Housing are granted to the best individual house at the closing ceremony.
