Located at the Avsenik homestead in Begunje na Gorenjskem, the Avsenik Gallery that was founded in 1989 by academic painter Martin Avsenik, the son of musician Slavko Avsenik, features since 2009 only the permanent collection, so called Museum of Avsenik Ensamble that presents the history of the internationally-renowned and many times awarded Alpine folk music group. It operates on the area of 220 square metres.

Otherwise, in last two decades the Gallery staged more than 180 exhibitions of national and international artists, has been presenting the collection Avsenik consisting of contemporary (inter)national artists, organised the international Ex-tempore Slovenia open to the art and the Children's Art Colony Begunje and many others events connected to the contemporary art and culture. Although this activity stopped, the Gallery retained the commercial part of such activities. Works of national and international artists as Peter Beus, Marija Cvetlič, Jaka Torkar, Rudi Majer, Suzanne Kiraly Moss could be purchased in the Gallery and museum shop, where every 14 days new works are offered.
