The beginings of the Department from the 1920s on have been influenced by philosopher France Veber, the first professor at the Department. His main topics were related to the History of Philosophy, Systematic Philosophy and Ethics, Esthetics and Cognitive Philosophy.
Graduate studies include a two-year Masters Degree programme and a guided PhD programme, both covered with European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which allows for participants to combine their postgraduate studies in Ljubljana with their study on other universities, or to complete all of their postgraduate studies in Ljubljana. Exchange programmes (SOCRATES-ERASMUS, CEEPUS, university exchanges) also enable professors and students from other universities to participate in the graduate programme.
Both the Association for Analytical Philosophy and Science Philosophy and the Slovene Philosophical Association are based here. The Department has its own library.
Culture.si offers information on Slovene cultural producers, venues, festivals and support services, all in one place. It encourages international cultural exchange in the fields of arts, culture and heritage. The portal and its content is owned and funded by the Ministry of Culture, funded by the European Union Recovery and Resilience Plan and developed by Ljudmila Art and Science Laboratory.
