Cultural cooperation
Design
Slovenia commemorated 20th anniversary of independence in 2011 and on this occasion the Embassy in Copenhagen organized a donation of renowned Rex armchairs by Niko Kralj to Designmuseum Danmark, which devoted its collections to countries' most famous design trade-marks. The Rex collection dating back from 1952 was also presented at a Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana.
Music
In 2012 Embassy supported a performance of violoncellist Nika Brnič together with a quartet Inegal at a church Langholtskirkja, which is famous for its classical and modern concerts (also by Björk, Iceland's most well-known voice). The same year violinist Miha Pogačnik held a lecture on relation of art and economy and presented Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012.
In summer 2013 Emona Folklore Group promoted traditional dances and held several concerts at the venues in Finland.
Language and Education
Slovene language is being taught at a lectureship at the Philological faculty in Vilnius in Lithuania and throughout the years Embassy supported the cause and plans to do so also in future.
For children of Slovene expats in Denmark the Embassy actively promotes and supports the introduction of Slovene language courses in Copenhagen.
