== Background ==

In 2012 the Embassy of Slovenia in Dublin was closed by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia due to economic crisis. In the period 2012&ndash;2020, diplomatic representation of Slovenia for Ireland was assumed by the [[Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia London]], based on the consent of the Irish Government.
