[[Gallery Y]] is the first specialized exhibition and sales gallery for contemporary art in Slovenia, which has been operating as a specialized program of the online sales gallery and auction house SLOART since 2015, and since September [[established::2019]] also as a physical gallery space in Ljubljana, also under the auspices of the SLOART Gallery. The purpose of Gallery Y is to support the most promising Slovene fine artists of the younger and middle generation and to establish an art market in Slovenia. It is led by the team of SLOART Gallery with its director [[Damjan Kosec]].

==Programme==

The establishment of Gallery Y is part of the strategy of SLOART Gallery, a sales art gallery with an exceptional offer of more than 2,000 works of art by Slovene fine artists. Gallery Y was established with the aim of supporting, promoting and selling works of art, specifically of the ten most promising Slovene fine artists of the younger and middle generation, in the period of ten years, until 2025. In this way, Gallery Y seeks to enable undisturbed creativity of selected artists in Slovenia, strives for their recognition and establishment on the Slovene and international art market, and at the same time to strengthen the Slovene art market of contemporary Slovene fine arts.

The main principle of Gallery Y is the exclusive representation in Slovenia for selected contemporary Slovene artists, painters or sculptors of the younger and middle generation. The gallery not only takes care of the sale of works of art by selected authors, but also their media presentation, professional recognition and, in general, wants to offer them the most comprehensive support possible. Gallery Y differs from other Ljubljana galleries in that it takes care of the sales and pricing strategy, growth and development of authors, connecting
with collectors and investors, and entering the international market.

The first four authors promoted by Gallery Y in the period between 2015 and 2018 were: [[Sašo Vrabič]], [[Arjan Pregl]], [[Tina Dobrajc]] and [[Duša Jesih]]. They are the recipients of several awards and recognitions, and their works have so far been exhibited at numerous exhibitions both in Slovenia and around the world. Gallery Y opened as an exhibition space in September 2019 with an exhibition, entitled ''Gallery Y: New Positions'', curated by [[Katarina Hergouth]] and [[Tina Fortič Jakopič]], where the works of the first four selected authors were on display and for sale.
