The Slovene branch of Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI) was established in 1969 as a non-profit union of the JMI associations and became an independent member of Jeunesses Musicales International in 1992. JMI Slovenia is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture. It incorporates regional associations in Ljubljana, Črnomelj, Celje, Hrastnik, Jesenice, Maribor, Nova Gorica and Velenje. JMI Slovenia unites professionals and non-professionals with the aim of enriching music life, educating young listeners, interpreting musical works, developing musicians and preserving the national musical heritage. It publishes the magazine Muska:
