The Animateka International Animated Film Festival is a specialised competitive festival which focuses on Central and East European animated film production. It takes place annually since 2004 at the Kinodvor Cinema and at the Slovenian Cinematheque in Ljubljana during the second week of December. Animateka is organised by the 2 Reels - Association for Reanimation of Storytelling.

The Days of Poetry and Wine Festival is a festival that hosts the younger generation of poets from all over the world. Up to 2009 it took place in Medana (a village in Goriška Brda next to the Italian border) during the last week in August, basically turning the village into the poetry capital of Europe for a week. In 2010 the 14th edition of the festival moves to Ptuj, a historical town of Roman origin in eastern Slovenia, one of regional partner cities of Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012. Since then the festival takes place in Ptuj. It is run by Beletrina Publishing Institute.
Lirikonfest

Lirikonfest Velenje is an annual international poetry festival organised by Velenje Literary Foundation and literary association Velenika. It takes place in spring or early summer; its programme, however, is broadened by poetry readings, Lirikon(fest) Tastings (Lirikon(fest)ove degustacije), which last all year round. Lirikonfest promotes and presents 21st-century literature, its authors, translators and editors. The festival programme comprises approximately 21 literary events accompanied by music, theatre, film, art and dance. Every year, a different theme is put into focus. In the heart of the festival activities are literary readings, editorial and critical interpretations and presentations of Slovene and foreign literary translators.
Gora Rocka

The festival Gora Rocka takes place on Šentviška planota, a plateau at the foothills of the Julian Alps. Established in 2005, it has managed to consistently attract more and more visitors (up to 10k), which is mainly due to the idyllic location and highly professional organisation, supported by a bulletproof line-up of well-established Slovene rock acts and big names from surrounding countries. All this for a very affordable price, yet another of the festival's traits.
Besides rock music, the festival's other main theme is charity, as each year the profit goes to local community, individuals, and charitable institutions. Over the years of the festival's existence, they have donated over 200 thousand euros!
Grounded Festival

Launched in 2015, Grounded, a festival of electronic music, critical thinking and activism, addresses current social issues by combining seemingly incompatible: deinstitutionalised theoretical debates, every day social activism and progressive electronic club culture. Through debates, projections, presentations, music performances and hangouts, the participants seek relevant, eligible and responsible answers to the contemporary challenges. The Grounded Festival is hosted by Pritličje Cafe in Ljubljana.

Big Architecture Festival

First held in 2008, the Big Architecture Festival is an international architectural event managed by Zavod Big – Center for Creative Economy of Southeast Europe, originally known simply as Zavod Big, these days as BIG SEE. In 2018, with the ambitious transformation of the organizer into a creative hub serving the broader Southeast Europe (SEE) region, the festival took on a new role. It now takes place twice a year, in May and October. The May event highlights architecture's relationship not only to design but also to the economy and culture of the region and beyond; the October event happens during the Month of Design and is devoted to interiors.
The festival now hosts a broad range of events - predominantly educational - aimed at promoting, researching, and evaluating architecture in the Southeast Europe region. Billed as something of a hybrid trade fair/festival, it also features activities and presentations that put architects and interior designers in direct contact with engineering companies, construction manufacturers, and other stakeholders from the private sector. Each event culminates in a ceremony announcing the BigSEE Awards for Architecture and Interior Design, respectively.
Brumen Biennial of Slovenian Design

The first Brumen Biennial of Slovenian Design was organised by the Brumen Foundation in November 2003 at the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana.
Since then the biennial has become a notable and respected event to evaluate and award Slovenian design in about seven categories. The biennial has come to provide a specialised and expert-based overview of the field of visual communication for Slovenian designers and design firms.

Praznik glasbe

With Praznik glasbe, Slovenia joins the renowned international initiative Fête de la Musique, which annually takes place in more than 120 countries and 400 cities around the world on 21 June.
The Slovenian Fête de la Musique (Praznik glasbe) is a cultural event aimed at promoting Slovenian music and its creators. It is a one-day festival where both amateur and professional musicians of different genres perform at outdoor venues in various Slovenian cities and towns.
In 2022, 15 Slovenian cities participated in the festival. The festival is organised by SIGIC.
Eye of the Word Festival

Established in 1995, the Eye of the Word Festival (Oko besede) is an annual traditional gathering of Slovene writers of children's and youth literature, as well as literary theorists, critics, librarians, and pedagogues. During the festival, writers pay visits to schools and participate in symposia, round tables, and readings. The festival was managed by Franc-Franc Publishing until 2015. Since 2016, the festival organizer has been Argo, Society for Humanities (NGO). Traditionally, it is held in autumn in Murska Sobota in Prekmurje.
