Mini Theatre was founded in 1999 by the actor and puppeteer Robert Waltl and director Ivica Buljan with the purpose to enhance creativity in post drama theatre and in the theatre for the young. The company holds a small hall at Ljubljana Castle where puppet theatre performances for children, youth, and adults are presented. The theatre has won a number of awards and recognitions for its theatrical achievements in Slovenia and abroad. A new theatre hall at Križevniška ulica in the old city centre of Ljubljana was opened in 2009.
