The national Primož Ramovš Competition for Chamber Music Groups invites ensembles of young musicians (duos, trios, quartets and quintets) to compete every three years. The 4th Primož Ramovš Competition in 2012 was organised under the auspices of Radio-Television Slovenia (RTV Slovenia) and the Society of Slovene Composers in the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory. Its artistic director has always been Tomaž Lorenz.
