Časoris, Information and Education Institute publishes the award-winning online newspaper Časoris, established in 2015. Created especially for young readers, Časoris offers daily, free, age-appropriate news from Slovenia and around the world, available as both a website and a mobile app. Each story is carefully adapted for children and includes questions that encourage reflection, helping young readers not only to stay informed but also to truly understand the world around them. By combining reliable journalism with educational insight, Časoris actively fosters critical thinking and strengthens media literacy from an early age.
Its impact has been widely recognised. In 2024, editor Sonja Merljak Zdovc received the Prometheus of Science Award for Časoris’s media literacy portal. In 2025, Časoris received the top SozialMarie Prize for Social Innovation at a ceremony in Vienna.
