The Institute of Philosophy of the Scientific Research Centre (ZRC SAZU) of the Slovene Academy of Science and Arts was founded in 1979 as the Institute of Marxist Studies. It was renamed as the Institute of Philosophy in 1988. The research carried out by the Institute covers area of philosophy as it relates to science, to art, to politics and to itself.
