Launched in 1992, the Gracious Comedy Awards are presented at the traditional Days of Comedy festival, organised by the Slovene People’s Theatre (SLG) Celje. Annually the festival announces the competition for best comedy performance, director, actor and actress, while since 1996 every second year the Gracious Comedy Quill Award has been bestowed to one original Slovene comedy text and the best comedy author.


The Gracious Comedy Actor Awards are conferred by the expert jury which also grants the Gracious Comedy Award and Gracious Director Award.
